Investigations underway after body found in river

ELLISTON, Va. (WDBJ) – Authorities are investigating after a man’s body was found in the North Fork River.

First responders found the body Saturday in the area of ​​Cannery Rd. in Elliston.

The body was only identified as that of a Hispanic man in his fifties.

It is unclear how long he was in the water, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said.

The man’s body was sent to the coroner’s office for further examination, but authorities believe there was no foul play.
