Alleged meth dealer and suspected accomplices arrested, says Lafourche Parish sheriff

Mitchell Folse, 45, Walter Nelson III, 42, and Chad Brunet, 43, all of Lockport, were arrested last week on Thursday, along with Darby Smith Jr., 21, of Larose.

LAFOURCHE PARISH, Louisiana — Four people were arrested in connection with a drug investigation by the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office. The arrests came after the sheriff’s office pursued a suspected local meth dealer, Sheriff Craig Webre said.

Mitchell Folse, 45, Walter Nelson III, 42, and Chad Brunet, 43, all of Lockport, were arrested last week on Thursday, July 11, along with Darby Smith Jr., 21, of Larose, after officers obtained arrest and search warrants for Folse’s home on Mar Drive.

Officers searched the home and said several people were inside, including Nelson, Smith and Brunet. They said Nelson and Smith tried to evade arrest by exiting the home through a window, but were quickly caught.

During the search, officers said they “found suspected methamphetamine.”

All four were taken to the Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex in Thibodaux.
