Deadly shooting on MARTA train in Atlanta

ATLANTA — Police are investigating after a man was shot and killed inside a MARTA train car in Atlanta Thursday afternoon.

MARTA police said they responded to the GWCC/CNN Center station around 5:45 p.m. for a call about a person shot on the eastbound Blue Line train.

Once arrived on scene, the police attempted to provide first aid to the victim, but he ultimately died. Police said they were still searching for the suspect.

The GWCC/CNN Center station is the stop for Mercedes-Benz Stadium, State Farm Arena and the Georgia World Congress Center. For reference, you can see where the station is located on the MARTA map below:

MARTA is currently conducting one-time tracking between the Five Points and Vine City stations, police said.
