Drug investigation in St. Bernard Parish leads to arrest

ST. BERNARD PARISH, La. (WGNO) — A Meraux man was arrested in connection with a drug investigation in St. Bernard Parish.

The St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office reported that 37-year-old Karnell Santacruz was arrested following the completion of an investigation by the Drug Enforcement Unit of the Division of Special Investigations.


SBSO officials said Santacruz is charged with possession of crack cocaine with intent to resell, possession of cocaine with intent to resell, possession of fentanyl with intent to resell, possession of Xanax with intent to resell, possession of heroin with intent to resell and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Santacruz was taken to St. Bernard Parish Prison.
