Man found dead in Mississippi under Luling Bridge

LULING, Louisiana (WGNO) – In the evening hours of July 9, a man was found dead floating in the Mississippi River under the Luling Bridge.

According to the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office, the man, who was found without identification and thus remains unidentified, was discovered by a tugboat captain working on the Mississippi River shortly before 7 p.m. SCPSO personnel were able to settle on LA 18 near Sugarhouse Road and successfully recovered the man’s body.


The deceased is described as a 40 to 45 year old white man who had short dark hair and a full beard, was approximately 1.80 m tall and weighed between 140 and 169 kg.

Investigators reportedly found no signs of a struggle, injury or foul play.

The SCPSO is asking anyone with information that could help identify the man to contact the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division at 985-783-1135.
