Teenager ‘sexually abused’ by man

A man is questioned by police after a young girl was allegedly sexually abused.

The girl was on Gore Road in New Milton on Tuesday morning, July 9, when she was approached and sexually assaulted by a man.

Following investigations by officers in Hampshire, a 30-year-old man from Ferndown was arrested in Christchurch later that afternoon.

A New Milton Police spokesman said: “A 30-year-old man from Ferndown, Dorset, has been arrested on suspicion of sexual abuse.

“It follows a report of a sexual assault on a young girl on Gore Road in New Milton shortly before 9am today (Tuesday 9 July).

“The man was arrested in Christchurch at around 2.30pm this afternoon and is currently in police custody.

“The arrest was the result of a great joint effort by officers from the neighbourhood and district policing teams.”
