Plumber and father of eleven children dies in an accident in the illegal septic tank of Modiin

In an apparent attempt to fix a problem in the septic tank, Yossi slipped in and seriously injured himself. A 26-year-old man who was with him also apparently fell in, but was rescued from the septic tank in moderate condition and taken to Assaf Harofeh Hospital for treatment.

Local authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the accident, which is currently being treated as an industrial accident.

The accident occurred around 10am on Tuesday. Firefighters arrived at the scene to rescue the two people trapped in the sewage pit, which had a narrow opening and was difficult to enter. Firefighters conducted a gas analysis, which revealed a high level of poison in the sewage pit. After descending in protective clothing, they managed to rescue both people from the pit, but Yossi was unconscious and was later pronounced dead.
