Clermont doctor charged with sexually abusing a patient

Police say a doctor from Clermont is accused of inappropriately touching and sexually abusing a patient in the examination room.

Andrew Walsh, 52, an acupuncturist at Acupuncture Clermont, was arrested July 2 and charged with sexual assault after a patient reported an alleged incident to police, according to Clermont police.

The woman told police that Walsh allegedly touched her inappropriately and sexually abused her in an examination room.

Walsh was arrested after police executed a search warrant for the acupuncture clinic. According to the clinic’s website, Walsh founded the practice in 2019 to “offer his expertise in the scientific application of acupuncture and natural holistic medicine to stimulate the body’s ability to self-regulate and repair.”

According to online jail records, he remains in custody at the Lake County Jail without bail.
