Man charged in fatal motorcycle crash in northwest Charlotte: CMPD

CHARLOTTE, NC (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – A man who was driving with a suspended license when he struck and killed a motorcyclist has been charged, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said.

Officers responded to calls regarding the serious crash at approximately 11:53 a.m. on Wednesday, May 8, in the 3500 block of Brookshire Boulevard in northwest Charlotte.


Kendrick Andre Neely, 50, was found in the street with serious injuries and taken to Atrium Health Main, where he was later pronounced dead.

CMPD said Neely was riding his motorcycle on Brookshire Blvd. been traveling north. when a Cadillac driven by Rico Conception Aery, 41, turned into Neely’s path and knocked him off his bike. Aery was charged with vehicular manslaughter.

Aery was also charged with driving with a suspended license and failure to yield the right of way. The investigation into this crash is active and ongoing.
