One dead, five others in hospital after accident in north Phoenix

PHOENIX – Six people were hospitalized Friday night after a crash near 56th Street and Pinnacle Peak Road.

The accident was reported shortly before 8:45 p.m. When emergency services arrived, they extinguished two burning vehicles.

Six adults were taken to local emergency hospitals in critical condition, one of them was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Aerial photographs appear to show that the two vehicles collided head-on.

It is not known what caused the crash.
