Death investigation underway after woman’s body found in Louisville’s Portland neighborhood | Crime reports

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Police are conducting a death investigation after a woman’s body was found in an apartment in Louisville’s Portland neighborhood.

Neighbors tell WDRB that police were called to the building on Duncan Street near 29th Street, just a block from Atkinson Elementary, early Thursday morning.

Louisville Metropolitan Police confirmed that officers were called to the scene around 8:15 a.m. and found “an adult female, apparently deceased.”

A WDRB photojournalist at the scene said both Louisville Metro Police and a crime scene investigator were on scene.

LMPD said a homicide has been reported but is awaiting the results of an autopsy.
