Man dies in traffic accident involving stolen car in Johnston County, police say

SMITHFIELD, NC — A man died in a car crash in Johnston County early Thursday morning. A police officer said the crash involved a stolen car.

At about 1:20 a.m., a car left the road and overturned near Cleveland Road, just outside Smithfield.

There was a man and a woman in the car. One man died, according to authorities.
