Rollover accident off the highway in Southern California leaves one dead and one injured

One person died and another was injured after a rollover crash off the 118 Freeway in Pacoima on Wednesday, officials confirmed to KTLA.

Shortly before 5 p.m., Los Angeles Fire Department crews responded to the area of ​​10910 N. Hadden Avenue after the fatal incident was reported.

Details are scarce and the exact cause of the accident is unclear, but officials said the vehicle left the highway and came to a stop near the intersection of Haddon Avenue and Fielding Street, right next to Paxton Park.

One of the two victims was thrown out, the other remained trapped in the vehicle.

“Firefighters freed the trapped patient, but unfortunately he died at the scene,” the LAFD said in a press release.

Aerial footage of the incident captured by Sky5 and ground video posted on the Citizen app showed emergency crews at work in the area, with the deceased victim, covered with a sheet, still lying nearby.

The other victim was taken to hospital by medical personnel in unknown condition.

It is unclear whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident. No information was given about the age or gender of the victims.
