Rape: Man arrested for raping 25-year-old woman under pretext of marriage | News from Bhopal

Bhopal: A man was arrested on Monday for allegedly raping a 25-year-old woman despite her promising marriage to him. Police said that the complainant is separated from her husband, lives with her children and works as a domestic help. In her complaint, she stated that last year, while calling someone, she accidentally dialled a wrong mobile number. The call was connected to the accused, a resident of Sehore who worked in a finance firm. He then started calling her. Both became friends and soon started talking to each other on the phone. When the woman informed him about her marital status, the accused pretended to have sympathy for her and offered her his help. The accused took her to a hotel in Ashoka Garden where he raped her and promised to marry her. Later, both lived together for three months. About six months ago, the accused suddenly disappeared. The survivor called him but his mobile phone was switched off. When she could not find him despite all her efforts, she approached the Ashoka Garden police and filed a rape complaint against him.
