Passerby discovers body with multiple gunshot wounds on Highway 281, says SAPD

SAN ANTONIO – A man in his 20s was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds north of downtown, according to San Antonio police.

A passerby discovered the man’s body around 3:30 p.m. Monday off the southbound lanes of U.S. Highway 281 between Basse Road and Hildebrand Avenue.

The man was neither breathing nor moving, police said.

According to SAPD, officers and emergency responders pronounced the man dead upon arrival.

The police suspect murder because the body had numerous gunshot wounds.

Seven cartridge cases were found next to the man’s body, the SAPD said.

Police believe the man was shot in the last 24 hours, possibly overnight.
