Missing firefighters found dead in Georgia, police said

HINESVILLE, Ga. – Two missing Georgia firefighters were found dead across the state line Sunday, police said.

According to Hinesville police, the bodies of missing firefighters Raegan Anderson and Chandler Kuhbander were discovered in Cocke County, Tennessee. Anderson’s car was also found in Tennessee.

11Alive previously reported that Anderson was last seen on June 25 at Liberty County Fire Services Station #1 in Midway, Georgia. Authorities believed Anderson was accompanied by Kuhbander, who was also reported missing in Liberty County.

Kuhbander’s vehicle was found in Savannah and Anderson’s vehicle was spotted in Richmond Hill before being found in Tennessee.

Police said no details were currently available regarding the discovery of the bodies and vehicle, or the circumstances leading to their deaths.

“We extend our deepest condolences to the Anderson and Kuhbander families during this incredibly difficult time,” Hinesville police said in a social media post.
