Scorching hot weather for a while, storms likely on Wednesday

TONIGHT:

The very hot weather will continue through the afternoon, with temperatures in Nashville reaching over 95 degrees by late afternoon. It will be particularly humid today in western Tennessee and parts of southwestern Kentucky, where a heat warning is in effect until 8 p.m. (the heat index will easily rise above 38°C)..

Unfortunately, it will remain hot for several hours this evening. Temperatures in Nashville will probably still be just above 30 degrees at 7 p.m. Isolated showers or thunderstorms are possible, especially north of Nashville.

Early Wednesday, lows will be above 21 degrees.

MORNING:

The highest chance of rain in the forecast is tomorrow. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will occur throughout the day. Some of these could occur in your area in the morning, but there is a higher chance in the afternoon and early evening. Be aware of damaging wind gusts, sudden downpours and the poor driving conditions that could result. A First Alert Weather Day is in effect.

THURSDAY:

According to our weather forecast, Thursday will be the best day. Humidity will drop slightly and highs will be around 90 degrees.

FRIDAY & THIS WEEKEND:

Super hot and humid weather is the headline from Friday through the weekend. All three days are First Alert Weather Days.

Isolated thunderstorms are possible on Saturday.

There may be isolated showers and thunderstorms on Sunday.

NEXT WEEK:

Humidity will drop slightly on Monday, but very hot weather is expected for the whole of next week.
