Cyclist killed in nighttime accident in Lázaro Cárdenas

Lázaro Cárdenas, QR — A cyclist in his 30s died on a dark stretch of the Lázaro Cárdenas highway on Sunday. Paramedics were called to the scene of the accident outside the town of Kantunilkín shortly after midnight.

There, the rescue workers discovered a red bicycle and a white pickup truck. They also found the cyclist, 35-year-old Daniel “C,” who was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. He is said to have suffered severe head trauma. He was not wearing a helmet when he was hit.

Elements of the National Guard were tasked with securing the accident site until medical help arrived. No information was given about possible tasks.
