Woman killed in two-vehicle accident on A9

A 42-year-old woman died in a two-vehicle collision on the A9 in the Highlands on Monday evening.

Following the accident, rescue workers rushed to the scene near the Slochd intersection at around 9:30 p.m.

The woman was driving a white Kia Rio which was involved in the incident with a white Iveco Daily van.

The male driver and passenger of the van were uninjured.

The highway was completely closed northbound and one southbound lane was closed for more than six hours.

Police are asking anyone with information about the accident or dashcam footage to come forward.
