Jasper man arrested after violent attack

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – A Jasper man was arrested after police say he strangled a woman and threatened her with a firearm.

Officials with the Jasper Police Department say police responded to a call for assistance from 675 Giesler Road. When police arrived, officers found an injured woman standing in front of a residence.


There, she told officers that Delain Taylor had strangled and threatened her in his home. She also told officers that he was still in his apartment with two children.

When Taylor was asked by police to leave the building, he refused, police said. Officers then used a drone to locate Taylor and the two children in the apartment.

According to police, Taylor left the building after 30 minutes and was arrested. Shortly afterwards, officers were able to find the two children unharmed.

During the search of the apartment, the officers seized a weapon and drug paraphernalia.

Taylor was subsequently arrested and taken to the Dubois County Security Center.
