Suspect arrested after one dead and one injured in Kilgore shooting

KILGORE, Texas – One person is dead and another is seriously injured in an overnight shooting in Kilgore.

According to the Kilgore Police Department, Shortly after midnight, officers were called to the intersection of Thompson St. and Myrtle St. for a report of a shooting.

When police arrived on the scene, they found one man dead and another who had been flown to a hospital in Tyler for treatment.

The SWAT team was called to the scene and learned that the suspect had left the location and was located at a home on the north side of town. After negotiations with the suspect and his family members, the suspect was arrested without further incident.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims,” the KPD said.
