Fort Worth, Texas: Man shot in his sleep, police say

FORT WORTH, Texas – A man was shot to death in his sleep Saturday morning in Fort Worth, police said.

The Fort Worth Police Department (FWPD) said officers were called to a shooting call in the 2800 block of Meadow Ridge Drive at around 9:23 a.m. When officers arrived at the home, they found the man dead in a bedroom.

Officers also spotted a suspect nearby and arrested him, according to FWPD. During their investigation, officers learned that the suspect came into the bedroom while the victim and “a witness” who lives in the home were sleeping and shot him in the “upper torso/head area.”

According to the police report, the witness told officers there was no argument or dispute prior to the shooting. The suspect and the victim are not related, FWPD said. However, the victim and the witness were in a relationship, according to Fort Worth police.

Fort Worth police did not say whether there is a relationship between the suspect and the witness.
