Gresham police investigate murder | kgw.com

GRESHAM, Oregon – According to a Gresham Police Department news release, Gresham Police detectives are investigating a suspicious death discovered earlier this week and later ruled a homicide.

Officers found 76-year-old William “Tom” Vaughn dead Monday night while conducting a welfare check at a location along Southeast Stark Street near the intersection with Southeast 208th Avenue in Gresham’s North Central neighborhood. Investigators later concluded his death was a homicide, police said.

The press release mentioned that police are in contact with Vaughn’s family, but no further information was given about the circumstances of the death, the reason for the welfare check or the type of building where the check was conducted. Nor did it mention any of the factors that led investigators to rule the death a homicide. It also did not mention any arrests and did not say whether police are looking for suspects.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact Detective Tyson Conroy at [email protected] or Detective Justin Pick at [email protected].

This is a developing new story and will be updated as more information becomes available or is released by police.
