What businesses are open and closed in Houston?

To celebrate Juneteenth as a federal holiday, many services and businesses around Houston are marking the day by closing today.

Juneteenth, celebrated on Juneteenth, marks the anniversary of the day in 1865 when enslaved African Americans in Texas were informed of their freedom, two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. This important day is now a federal holiday, honoring the end of slavery in the United States and celebrating African American culture and achievements.
