Man dead, 4 men injured after drive-by shooting in Fort Lauderdale, police say

FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida. – A shooting in Fort Lauderdale on Friday evening left one man dead and four men injured, one of them in critical condition, according to police.

Detective Ali Adamson, a spokeswoman for the Fort Lauderdale Police Department, reported that the victim was pronounced dead after being transported to the hospital.

“One victim is in critical condition and the other three are currently in stable condition and are expected to survive,” Adamson wrote in a statement.

Detectives investigated the shooting after police arrived on Northwest Eighth Street near 22 Road in the Franklin Park community around 7:10 p.m.

“This incident appears to have been a drive-by shooting,” Adamson wrote.

Firefighters took five victims to Broward Health Medical Center.
