Man charged with murder after shooting in downtown Phoenix leaves man dead

PHOENIX (AZFamily) – A man faces murder charges after another man was shot and killed in downtown Phoenix over the weekend.

The shooting occurred around 5:30 p.m. at a home near 12th and Garfield Streets. Police arrived to find a man with gunshot wounds, later identified as 37-year-old Tracy Walker.

Walker was taken to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Phoenix police arrested 24-year-old Clayveion Hendrix when they first arrived at the home.

When investigators arrived at the scene, Hendrix allegedly admitted to being responsible for the shooting. He was sent to prison for murder.

According to police, no other suspects are believed to be involved in the incident.

The investigation has not yet been completed.
