16-year-old boy arrested for raping minor girl in Delhi

New Delhi:

A teenager was arrested for allegedly sexually abusing a seven-year-old girl from her neighbourhood in south Delhi, officials said on Monday.

Information about the matter was received by the Lodhi Colony police station on Sunday, it said.

The victim’s mother told police that her daughter had been sexually abused in his home about three to four days ago by a 16-year-old boy from her neighborhood, police said.

The girl was taken for a medical examination and an FIR was registered under Section 376 AB (rape of a woman below 12 years of age) of the IPC and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO), it said.

“We have arrested the youth and sent him to an observation home. Further investigation is underway,” a police official said. PTI BM NB
