Paradise man charged with alleged sexual abuse of young girl years ago | News

LOGAN — A 54-year-old Paradise man has been arrested and charged with sexually assaulting a young girl several years ago, authorities said. David John Keller was booked into the Cache County Jail on May 29, days after confessing to the crimes to officials.

Keller was born in Logan’s 1st.st On May 31, he appeared in district court via video conference from jail. He was charged with seven counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child, a first-degree felony.

According to an arrest report, Keller called 911 on May 14 and said he wanted to confess to a crime he had committed. He spoke to a Cache County Sheriff’s deputy and explained how he had abused and exposed himself to the child when he was between 9 and 11 years old. The crimes reportedly occurred between 2009 and 2011.

Investigators later interviewed the alleged victim. She stated that she remembered several incidents in which Keller harassed her and exposed himself to her. She said these incidents made her afraid.

The woman spoke to Keller on the phone, which was recorded by police. During the conversation, she read a letter detailing the incidents. Keller allegedly admitted to the crimes during the phone call.

According to court records, Keller is scheduled to appear in court again on Monday, June 10. He is serving a temporary prison sentence and could face life in prison if convicted.

Arrested and accused persons are presumed innocent unless their guilt has been proven beyond a reasonable doubt in court.
