Porsche accident in Pune: Police arrest mother of minor boy for giving her blood sample to exchange with his | News from Pune

Pune City Police have arrested the mother of the minor boy accused in the Porsche car crash case. She is accused of Blood to exchange with his sample taken after the incident.

The police had earlier arrested Dr Ajay Taware, the then head of the forensic department of Sassoon Hospital, Dr Shrihari Harnol, the then emergency medical officer, and Class IV clerk Atul Ghatkamble for allegedly exchanging the minor’s blood sample for financial favours. The police are also expected to take the father into custody to initiate the investigation into the blood sample swap.

On May 19, the underage boy was allegedly driving the Porsche at high speed under the influence of alcohol when the car collided with two software engineers riding a bicycle and died.

According to police investigations, Dr Taware had made no fewer than 14 telephone conversations with the minor’s father in the two hours before taking the boy’s blood sample on the morning of May 19.

Meanwhile, the Pune police secured permission have been directed by the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) to conduct an examination of the accused minor boy. They want to speak to him as part of the ongoing investigation into the accident case, which includes exchanging his blood samples at Sassoon Hospital after the incident. The police will question the minor boy in the next few days at the observation home in the presence of his family members and the child protection officer, police sources said.
