Two elderly PA residents injured after accident with rescue helicopter

(WJET/WFXP) – A motorcycle crash in McKean County left two elderly Pennsylvania residents seriously injured after the tire became caught on a downed power line.

Because of the accident, PSP Lewis Run officers were called to the 600 block of Barnum Road in Eldred Township at approximately 4:10 p.m. on May 21.

According to witnesses, there was a fallen power line on the road that had been torn down by a felled tree.

The driver attempted to drive around the fallen line and caught one of his tires in the line, causing it to be pulled into a ditch and crash into it.

Both victims, a 74-year-old man and a 72-year-old woman, suffered serious injuries in the accident and were transported to a local hospital by STAT MEDEVAC.
