Promoting sexual and reproductive health and rights in the private sector

Investing in women’s reproductive health can impact more than 190 million women working in global supply chains. With this policy paper, UNFPA is launching a scorecard of indicators and metrics for the private sector to track progress on key social issues in the workplace, including maternity leave, fertility treatments and anti-sexual harassment protocols.

When companies strive to create an inclusive environment for women and positively impact their supply chains, they can benefit from increased workplace productivity, reduced absenteeism and lower staff turnover.

Since workers spend a significant portion of their reproductive years in the workplace, promoting sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) is an important step in creating safe, healthy and equitable workplaces. This document provides companies with tools to assess their current maturity and progress, identify their focus areas and improve corporate responsibility using a scorecard of sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) indicators.
