Teenager injured in stabbing in Elizabeth after group brawl

Police in Elizabeth are investigating a stabbing incident that occurred Saturday night in which two teenagers were injured.The incident occurred around 5:55 p.m. near the intersection of Clark Place and 1st Street, where officers were called to a fight between several juveniles.

According to Elizabeth Police spokeswoman Ruby Contreras, officers arrived to find two teenagers with stab wounds. The severity of their injuries has not yet been confirmed.

Both people were taken to University Hospital in Newark for treatment, spokeswoman Contreras said.

There are unconfirmed reports that a third person was injured in the attack, but police have not verified these claims.

The group of youths involved in the altercation reportedly fled the scene immediately after the stabbing.

So far, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.

Elizabeth Police continue to investigate the circumstances of the altercation and are working to identify those involved.
