A Blairsville man was arrested after fleeing from state troopers and throwing away drugs

BURRELL TOWNSHIP, Pa. (KDKA) – Pennsylvania State Police in Indiana County arrested a man after he fled from officers while discarding a backpack containing drugs and over $1,300 in cash.

On April 28, a state trooper attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a motorcycle in the area of ​​Marshall Heights Road in Black Lick Township. According to a public information report, the motorcyclist fled a short distance, then abandoned the vehicle and continued on foot. Officers began pursuing the suspect, who was eventually taken into custody without incident.

After an investigation, it was determined that the suspect was not authorized to use the motorcycle and had outstanding warrants.

During the chase, the suspect also dropped a backpack, which was later found to contain more than 200 grams of methamphetamine, marijuana and $1,340 cash.
