UCF vice chairman arrested for soliciting prostitutes and indecent exposure in park

UCF Vice Chairman Harold Mills was arrested this week on charges of soliciting a prostitute and indecent exposure after showing his penis to an undercover agent in Altamonte Springs. Sanlando Parkaccording to the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office arrest report.

“These allegations of misconduct are being independently investigated by me and my team, and as most know, the facts often differ significantly from what was originally reported,” said Mills’ attorney, Mark NeJame said in a statement on Saturday. “However, none of this should overshadow the immense contributions Harold has made over the years to the disadvantaged, to the arts, to business and to his countless collaborators.”

The sheriff’s report detailed how the Windermere resident was arrested in an undercover operation Thursday at 5:30 p.m

Using a map-based connection app, Mills asked an undercover agent if the agent was at the park, the arrest report said.

Mills told the agent it was his first time there and asked the agent to pick him up in his Tesla so Mills would feel more comfortable because he wasn’t sure where it was safest, the arrest report said.

The agent approached Mills’ window and told him to go to the bathroom. Mills said he was nervous about leaving his car in the parking lot, so the undercover officer suggested a secluded area at the north end of the parking lot, the arrest report said.

Mills agreed to go there. Mills told the agent he wanted oral sex when the agent asked Mills what he wanted, the report said.

“The agent asked what Mills was ‘working with.’ Mills pulled his penis out of his unzipped pants,” the arrest report states. “The agent went into the bathroom and gave the order to remove.”

Mills was taken from the park in an unmarked van and then taken to jail in a marked sheriff’s car.

Mills told the sheriff’s office that he often went to parks while working to clear his head.

Mills also said the undercover agent wanted to have sex with him, but Mills said he wouldn’t follow the agent into the bathroom.

Mills was named a UCF trustee in 2019 re-elected for a second term last year as deputy chairman. His term ends in January 2026.

Mills is the CEO of VMD Ventures, which invests in entrepreneurs in the technology and services industries. According to UCF, he has an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Mills is active in the community and works for several organizations. He is a trustee at Rollins College, a small private liberal arts school in Winter Park.

UCF did not immediately respond to comment Saturday morning. Rollins declined to comment.

“The tremendous support he receives from the community and across the country is a testament to his well-known compassion, philanthropy and commitment to helping others. He’s forever grateful for that,” NeJame said.
