Buffalo Bills: NFL Analyst Makes Bold Josh Allen Prediction for Fantasy Football

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen will be entering a different era for the 2024 season. The Bills have won the AFC East title in recent years. They won the division in Week 17 last season, on the road against the Miami Dolphins.

This season, many people are wondering if the Buffalo Bills are a playoff team in the AFC. Their kryptonite the last two years has been Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. Kansas City eliminated them in the AFC Divisional Round in Buffalo last season.

Many are wondering if Sean McDermott is the right coach to lead this team to a Super Bowl title. McDermott will be under the microscope for much of the 2024 season. General manager Brandon Beane will also be under the microscope for the 2024 season.

Bleacher Report writer Gary Davenport thinks Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen will be a fantasy football bust this season

There’s no doubt that fantasy football owners will want to draft quarterback Josh Allen this season. He’s one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. Some consider Allen to be the second-best quarterback in the NFL behind Kansas City Chiefs superstar Patrick Mahomes.

Bleacher Report’s Gary Davenport believes that Buffalo Bills’ Josh Allen could potentially be a fantasy football bust this season. Davenport said:

Being the first team to select a quarterback is often a poor use of draft capital. Even if that quarterback finishes the season as QB1, the advantage gained at center is usually not worth the deficit he creates at running back or wide receiver.

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen poses an additional risk.

Of the three players who were targeted more than 80 times last year in Buffalo, two are gone, including Stefon Diggs and his 160 attempts. Yes, the Bills brought in replacements like veteran Curtis Samuel and rookie Keon Coleman, but you can’t objectively look at the Bills’ passing weapons and think they’re better than last season.

Adding it all up, CBS Sports’ Heath Cummings sees disappointment on the horizon.

“We can also expect a significant regression from last year’s 15 rushing touchdowns,” he said. “That’s important because those numbers masked the fact that Allen had his lowest passing yards per game and passing touchdowns since 2020. Even his rushing yards per game were down about a third from the previous two years.”

Josh Allen is without Stefon Diggs, but he also is without Gabe Davis. Khalil Shakir, rookie Keon Coleman and Curtis Samuel will be his primary options at receiver. However, they could use a lot of two tight end teams with Dalton Kincaid and Dawson Knox.

Last season with the Buffalo Bills, Allen completed 66.5 percent of his passes for 4,306 yards, 29 touchdowns and 18 interceptions. He also rushed for 524 yards on 111 carries and 15 touchdowns, averaging 4.7 yards per carry. Allen may still throw plenty of interceptions, but he won’t be a bust despite the lack of receivers he may have around him this NFL season.
