Pueblo man arrested for allegedly bringing fentanyl into prison

A Pueblo man arrested on July 23 on a vehicular ejection warrant has been charged with several new charges after he allegedly swallowed dozens of fentanyl pills before being booked into the Pueblo County Jail.

According to a press release from the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office, 39-year-old Chad Edmonds is said to have swallowed 37 fentanyl pills before his arrest.

PCSO prison officers “received information” that Edmonds “may have been ingesting drugs” prior to his arrest and questioned Edmonds about the allegations, which he denied.

“Deputies suggested conducting a full body scan on Edmonds to see if there were any items inside his body,” PCSO officials said in the press release.
