Police: Fiber optic networks in parts of France “sabotaged”

The fiber optic networks of several telecommunications operators were “sabotaged” in six regions of France; however, Paris was not affected, police said on Monday.

The incident occurred three days after coordinated acts of sabotage brought high-speed rail traffic to a halt just hours before the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games, disrupting the travel of hundreds of thousands of people.
