1 dead in motorcycle accident on Granby Street on Sunday morning

NORFOLK, Virginia – Norfolk police said one person was killed in a serious crash on Granby Street early Sunday morning.

According to a social media post from the Norfolk Police Department (NPD), emergency dispatchers received a report of the accident shortly after 5 a.m.

It happened in the 7200 block of Granby Street.

According to police, a car and a motorcycle were involved and one person was pronounced dead at the scene.

The southbound lanes were initially closed, causing traffic delays in the area.

At 8:30 a.m. there was still a lot of activity as police investigated the accident.
