Naib Tehsildar accused of sexually harassing a nursing sister in Ludhiana

Dehlon police have arrested a resident of Cheema village, Payal, for sexual harassment and sending lewd messages to his foster sister.

According to police, the accused was a Naib Tehsildar. The 40-year-old woman from Gurm village in Dehlon stated in her complaint that the accused was her adopted brother and had helped her send her son abroad. Later, he started sending her objectionable messages on WhatsApp and forced her to go to bed with him. When she objected, the accused threatened her.

The woman later described the ordeal to her family members and filed a complaint on April 30.

Inspector Gurpreet Handa, who is investigating the case, said an FIR has been filed and an investigation is underway. The accused has been charged under sections 354A (sexual harassment) and 67 (A) of the Information and Technology Act.
