DENVER (KDVR) – Denver faces another day of Pinpoint Weather Warnings on Sunday as more triple-digit and possibly record-breaking heat temperatures are on the way.

Further heat warnings will come into effect until 9 p.m. Sunday, with maximum temperatures expected to be between 38 and 40 degrees Celsius.


In addition, an air quality warning is in effect for the northern Front Ranges and foothills until 4 p.m. and a red flag warning is in effect for the high plains until 9 p.m.

Weather today: Hot, isolated storms

Another day of pinpoint weather warnings is in place on Sunday as highs in the Denver metro area rise above 100 degrees. There’s a high of 102 degrees, which could set a new record for Denver.

The current daily record was last set on July 14, 1878.

In the afternoon, especially after 2 p.m., there may be isolated thunderstorms, but these should not be severe.

Weather tonight: Partly cloudy and warm

On Sunday evening, partly cloudy skies will dominate the area, with lows only falling to just under 20 degrees. The wind will come from the southwest and reach a speed of 8-24 km/h.

Outlook: Cooling with chance of rain

It will remain warm on Monday with maximum temperatures of over 35 degrees. There may be some showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon.

The chance of showers and thunderstorms increases on Tuesday and Wednesday and will contribute to a cooling trend. Highs on Tuesday will be seasonal, reaching 90 degrees. On Wednesday, temperatures will only reach the mid-80s.

On Thursday, Friday and Saturday the probability of rain is lower and temperatures are slightly below normal, reaching values ​​between 30 and 35 degrees Celsius.
