The New York State Police were called to County Road 38 around 10 p.m. on Thursday. An ATV had to swerve to avoid an oncoming vehicle, which caused the ATV to roll over several times.

The driver of the SUV, 26-year-old Jesse M. Bestine of Wellsville, was taken to Jones Memorial Hospital and then to Strong Hospital in Rochester. State police said his injuries were not life-threatening.

The investigation into the crash is still ongoing.

“An all-terrain vehicle (ATV) is defined as a motorized off-road vehicle that rides on four low-pressure or airless tires and has a seat for the operator to sit astride and a handlebar for steering control,” says the ATV Safety website.
