Police accuse woman of attacking police officer in Virginia

The Woodbridge resident fled the scene after hitting the officer, police said.

WOODBRIDGE, Virginia – Prince William County Police have arrested a woman who reportedly assaulted a police officer on June 21.

According to a police report, 22-year-old Alejandra Yvette Garcia was in the area of ​​Saxophone Way and Bel Air Rd. in Woodbridge when she was spotted by officers shortly before 7:45 p.m. Officers said Garcia had warrants out for her arrest, so they attempted to arrest her.

However, when Garcia was arrested, police say she resisted arrest and ran away. After she ran after them, officers tried to arrest Garcia again, but she struck one of the officers before escaping.

The officer reportedly suffered minor injuries.

Four days later, Garcia was arrested and charged with assault on a police officer and obstruction of justice.

According to police, 22-year-old Alejandra Yvette Garcia of Woodbridge was arrested on June 25 in connection with the “assault on an officer” that occurred in the area of ​​Saxophone Way and Bel Air Rd. in Woodbridge, Virginia.
