Man found dead after drowning in lake near Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, Missouri – A drowning in Houston Lake in Platte County is under investigation Thursday morning.

The Kansas City Fire Department was called to Houston Lake around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday evening.

They found the body of an elderly man floating in the water. They believe he had been fishing from a nearby dock.

It is unknown how he got into the water. His name has not been released. The cause of the drowning is currently under investigation by Platte County.
