Man arrested for raping his underage niece in Shamshabad

Hyderabad: On Sunday, June 23, police arrested a 35-year-old man for sexually assaulting his 14-year-old niece in Shamshabad.

According to reports, the accused met the 14-year-old girl at a family celebration and had been in regular contact with her since then. Under the pretext of visiting her parents, the accused began to get closer to her.

The victim’s parents noticed his behavior and warned him to stay away from her. However, he ignored the warnings and continued to stay in touch with her, visiting her when her parents were not home. Police said they had a physical relationship and he came to her home and allegedly raped her.

On June 22, the victim’s brother caught him in a compromising situation and immediately reported the incident to the police.

On receiving the information, a case was registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and POSCO Act. He was arrested and remanded in judicial custody.
