One person died in an accident in Bedford County

BEDFORD COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) – A Bedford County man was killed in a traffic accident in East Saint Clair Township on Saturday.

Pennsylvania State Police were called to Quaker Valley Road just after 10 p.m. on June 22 for a report of an accident involving a motorcycle and a truck pulling a trailer. William Stufft, 58, of Alum Bank was westbound on his motorcycle, and a Pittsburgh man driving the truck was also westbound.

Police noted in the report that Stufft was driving behind the truck when he struck it, causing him to leave the roadway, slide onto the eastbound lanes and down an embankment.

The motorcycle came to an uncontrolled stop against a wooden post. According to the report, Stufft was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
