Kingsport murder suspect arrested after pursuit ends in Weber City | WJHL

WEBER CITY, Va. (WJHL) – A Kingsport murder suspect was arrested after a chase in Weber City ended in a crash.

According to the Weber City Police Department, Kingsport police pursued Curtis Ferguson as he crossed the state line and entered Weber City.


Weber City Police joined the pursuit, which ended when Ferguson crashed after “driving recklessly through the Food City parking lot,” the police department said.

Ferguson and another person in the vehicle were arrested.

Weber City Police Chief Donald Harding confirmed that Ferguson is wanted for murder in Kingsport. News Channel 11 has reached out to Kingsport police for more information.

“The coordinated efforts of law enforcement from the Kingsport, Weber City and Gate City Police Departments resulted in a successful resolution of this dangerous situation,” the Weber City Police Department said in a press release. “The safety of the public remains our top priority and we are grateful for the quick and professional response of all officers involved.”

Ferguson was taken to the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail, and Weber City police filed additional charges.
