Police in American Fork are investigating the deaths of a married couple whose bodies were discovered on Thursday, June 20, 2024.

An investigation is ongoing after a couple was found dead in a home Thursday afternoon, American Fork Police Lt. Stuart Fore told the Daily Herald.

The victims were found in a residence near 1400 North and 100 East.

Fore said police officials are still investigating the couple’s cause of death, but both victims appeared to have at least one gunshot wound, police told KUTV.

No further information has been released.

Thursday’s incident marks the second time this year that a dead couple has been found in an American Fork home. On Jan. 3, authorities responded to a home at 179 N. Center St. to check on the residents’ well-being. When they entered the home, they found 84-year-old Sally and Duane Francom dead.

In April, the state medical examiner declared the elderly couple’s cause of death “unexplained” due to the extent of decomposition.
