Child injured in ATV accident

A nine-year-old boy suffered multiple serious injuries in an ATV accident near the town of Smoaks on Tuesday, June 11. Colleton County fire and emergency medical personnel rushed to the victim’s home and treated him at the scene. The child, who was not wearing a helmet, was flown by CARE Flight helicopter to the Pediatric Trauma Center at Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital at MUSC in Charleston.
