Justin Timberlake arrested for drunk driving in the Hamptons

Justin Timberlake was arrested in the Hamptons early Tuesday and faces drunken driving charges, the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office confirmed to Yahoo Entertainment.

The “SexyBack” singer was arraigned and released without bail. A spokesperson for Timberlake has not yet responded to Yahoo Entertainment’s request for comment.

“On June 18, 2024, Justin Timberlake was arrested in Sag Harbor, NY for DUI,” a spokesperson for the district attorney’s office said in a statement. “He was arraigned in Sag Harbor Village Justice Court and released on bail. We have no further comment at this time.”

According to People, Timberlake was dining at the American Hotel on Monday night. He was on his way to a friend’s house when he was stopped.

A Sag Harbor police spokesman told NBC News Tuesday morning that Timberlake was being held pending arraignment. He was arraigned in court that morning and, in addition to the drunken driving charge, received citations for failure to stop at a stop sign and failure to maintain his lane.

According to People, he was handcuffed for the hearing. He was released on bail. His next court date is July 26.

Timberlake was photographed leaving court wearing jeans, a printed T-shirt, a short-sleeved button-down shirt and a cap. According to People, he was accompanied by his lawyer and two other people. The outlet noted that his wife, Jessica Bielwas not present.

The police department is expected to issue an official statement on the matter later today. Yahoo also reached out to the Sag Harbor Police Department and the Sag Harbor Court but did not receive an immediate response.

The Hamptons are located on Long Island in New York State and serve as a summer paradise for the rich and famous.

Timberlake is currently on the road with his Forget Tomorrow World Tour. He performed in Tampa and Miami over the weekend. This weekend he has two shows in Chicago, followed by two in New York City on June 25 and 26.
