Police arrest armed robbers who raped three women in Anambra

“The suspects are Chukwuma Diji ‘M’, also known as Sympathy or Chi-Boy, aged 35 years of Obinagu Umudun village, Abagana and Micheal Edochie ‘M’, also known as Mikel, aged 31 years of Eziabunabu Umudun, Abagana sometime last year 2023. They are said to have raped a married woman in Obinagu Abagana and fled the community when security operatives tried to arrest them.

“Also on 6/6/2024, the suspects broke into the home of a young woman and raped her and her friend at gunpoint. The criminals later forced one of the victims to transfer money into his account after taking turns to have sex with them. Chukwuma and Micheal both confessed to the crime.

“The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Police Command, *CP Nnaghe Itam*, has ordered the immediate transfer of the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department for a full investigation and justice to the victims of the alleged crime.

“The suspects will be brought to court after the investigation is completed.
